Yesterday marked a somber day for electronic music, as Phra and Bot of Crookers announced that they will no longer be working together as a group. While Phra will continue to work under the moniker of Crookers, Bot has decided to pursue other avenues: “After having worked together for more than 8 years now, the time has arrived to start exploring different directions,” Bot said. It is safe to say that Crookers have been been one of the most influential electronic acts of the last ten years, and thus their decision to go separate ways has left many fans heartbroken. Countless artists and fans payed tribute to the duo via Twitter, including A-Trak who wrote: “Big up @crookers.net @bot106 @phrappuccino – soundtrack to an era.”

In the wake of the unfortunate news, Phra has composed a free “Don’t Be Sad” mix. The blistering, electro house mix is an attempt at reassuring fans that despite Bot’s absence, Crookers will continue on. Download “Don’t Be Sad” for free and make sure to leave some heartfelt words for both Phra and Bot.
