Laidback Luke and Mixmash launch new division, Ones to Watch Records
Laidback Luke’s Mixmash label has proven a reliable go-to for electronic dance music of varying sonic persuasions. Its played host to myriad artists including power players like Tiësto, Steve Angello, Afrojack, A-Trak, and of course the label head himself. Mixmash is expanding its offerings with the addition of a new divison, Ones to Watch. Although it’s not exactly uncharted territory for Mixmash, having a platform devoted to nurturing new talent is exciting. Luke explains,
“We’ve got so many amazing tracks by a lot of new and incredible talent that’s out there. OTW offers a stepping stone to Mixmash for those talented producers out there. My focus for Mixmash, and now OTW as well, is to have a proper platform for them. We started with OTW to make way for new and upcoming artists and to give them the push they need to accelerate. With OTW we can focus on each individual release and offer each artist a great start of their career.”
Ones to Watch is set to launch tomorrow with Koala, the premier EP from Blasterjaxx. This won’t be the duos first tango with LBL, having had their remix of Tom Staar’s “Kingdom” released on Mixmash earlier this year.
