As Treasure Fingers’ hometown of Atlanta braces itself for a mass pilgrimage for TomorrowWorld, the producer himself is bracing for the reaction to his new Katy Perry mix. Tasked with an official remix of “Roar” for Capitol Records, the Georgian is now giving away a dub edit that puts even more miles between it and the original. The house flavor does a better job of setting the jungle mood than any leopard bra top could, and though the title lyric has been cut, a far more authentic roar sample nicely takes its place. Miss Perry’s borderline-shrill chops still play a role in the tune, but a bouncy cymbal beat cuts any pop sensibility and takes the track as far underground as the “Part Of Me” star will ever go.
