W&W prepare for their debut Essential Mix tonight at 8 PM EST
Other than the fact that it is finally Friday, BBC Radio 1 gives us another reason to be excited tonight — Dutch duo W&W, aka Ward van der Harst and Willem van Hanegam, will showcase their debut Essential Mix tonight on BBC Radio 1. It was only this year that the two truly made a name for themselves in the dance music community, but what shocked the world the most was their utmost quality and consistency. While it is generally the case that lesser-known artists find fame in that one incredible track, W&W didn’t just stop after “The Code” became one of 2013’s anthems. Shortly thereafter, they released an electrifying collaboration on Armada Music with none other than Armin van Buuren, “D# Fat,” in addition to this past summer’s most popular remix of Armin’s “This Is What It Feels Like.” Finally, we can’t forget the infectious nature of their single, “Thunder,” and their production with Hardwell, “Jumper.” The list goes on, but it is clear that the Dutchmen are doing it right, combining trance’s uplifting characteristics with the ground-breaking magnitude of electro and progressive house.
