With the tragic aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan in sight, some artists are going above and beyond to do what they can to support the relief effort and restore life in the Philippines. Axwell plans to donate the proceeds of his November 21st performance in Manila to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, which even inspired the promoters of the show to follow his lead.

In light of Axwell’s generosity, we revisit his 2005 classic “Watch The Sunrise” featuring singer Steve Edwards. This record’s success holds special significance, playing a role in the startup of Axtone Records. “Watch The Sunrise” has a distinct sound that anyone familiar with this tune can immediately identify within the first moment of playback. The rhythmic strumming of the genuine guitar chords accompanied by bright percussion elicits a vibe unlike anything today. Steve Edwards of course gets some credit by lending his warm voice and a memorable hook to the hit. Since this record’s release, Axwell has become one of the most recognizable names in house and dance music. The once one-third of Swedish House Mafia continues to use his talent and influence to support today’s aspiring artists as well as humanity in need.
