Though incomparable to his Northern Lights and “Concrete Angel” days, it is evident that Gareth Emery is more prepared than ever to release his sophomore album, Drive. After previewing a multitude of songs such as “U,” “Long Way Home” and “Beautiful Rage,” the English producer is now introducing us to a track that traveled the globe before being deemed “finished.”

Characterized by a striking, progressive build and an onslaught of electro blasts, “Million Years” serves as a clear depiction of Emery’s evolved sound. Percussive accents blanket Asia’s enticing vocals that organically fade in and out of the track, which Gareth claims was originally produced in none other than a hotel room in Thailand. Completed in November 2013 with the treatment of Asia’s songwriting skills, “Million Years” will land on Drive at number six. While the Englishman admits that “Million Years” leans more commercial, its shimmering energy “just put a big smile on my face every time I played it.”
