Nearly four years since his first studio album, Gareth Emery’s long anticipated Drive has been just about two years in the making. Set for release April 1st, after the craziness that is Miami Music Week, the English veteran gives us a pair of honest progressive house glimpses ahead of its full release. The first, “Long Way Home” is described as possibly Gareth’s own personal favorite of the album. Passionate and melodically heavy to serve as an allegory of journey, don’t assume this alluring number is a “banger” or energetic club track. The second, “Beautiful Rage” is moodier in essence, with a bold plucking progression that introduces the harmoniously relaxed voice of acoustic singer LJ Ayrten. With Drive, the producer aims to step away from typical EDM drops and commercial sounds to simply bring us songs in true Gareth Emery fashion.
