Electro house pioneer Wolfgang Gartner pairs up with his own Kindergarten Records understudy, Popeska, for his return to the dance music spotlight on “We Are The Computers.” A rebirth of classic electro underpinnings, the duo’s collaboration is reminiscent of the electro of old, featuring funk-fueled house grooves, and a 16-bit topcoat that charms, rather than startles, its listeners. Toss in some robotic vocal chops, a dabble of disco and punchy percussion and “We Are The Computers” soundly satisfies that nagging itch for groove-laden electro.
