DA Premiere: MUST DIE! announces upcoming LP, unleashes ‘Hellcat’

When Must Die! first emerged on the bass music scene in 2011, dubstep was just beginning to wash up on American shores. Since then, things have clearly come a long way for everyone, and Must Die’s upcoming full-length Death & Magic LP stands to prove just how far the Mississippi-bred producer has actually come since his establishment. And although Must Die!’s already extensive catalog certainly speaks for itself, featuring some of the most aggressive, booming sounds bass music has to offer, his latest release via OWSLA is aiming to showcase a more creative, versatile disposition.

Shortly after his bulldozing collaboration “Survivors” landed a well-deserved spot on Zomboy‘s recently released LP, Must Die! is following up with his own thrashing single “Hellcat.” Debuted by label-head Skrillex in a rare festival appearance alongside Diplo as Jack U, “Hellcat” is a deafening fusion of hardstyle, big room, acid house, and dubstep elements, delivered simultaneously, leaving no listener or crowd safe from imminent pulverization. The track’s rousing build seamlessly spirals into penetrating stabs of bouncy synth work as his latest material represents Must Die in top form.

Must Die!’s exploratory 10-track LP is slated for September 30th on OWSLA, however fans who pre-order the album will receive the hypnotic one-two punch single on August 25th. If Must Die’s festival-flattening selection is any indicator of what we can expect from the rest of the record, Death & Magic is about to be a gripping, low-end thrill ride.

Pre-order Death & Magic here.
