DA Premiere: Alesso – Heroes (Branchez Remix)
With a stage-ready balance of bursting topline melodies and anthemic soul, Alesso’s “Heroes” seems a perfect contender to highlight much of 2015’s coming summer festival circuit. It might come as a surprise that Branchez, celebrated for his reworks of the less mainstream What So Not and Mat Zo, has chosen Alesso’s newest original as his latest undertaking.
Albeit unexpected, underneath his distinct trip hop hand, Branchez’ “Heroes” remix floats on the end of an entirely opposite musical spectrum, providing an appreciated contrast that reads like a breath of fresh air. Subduing the poppier drives of Alesso’s original and exploring a more subtle, gradual bass escalation, the New York producer finds harmony in a drawn out breakdown of Tove Lo’s echoing chorus calls. Listen to Branchez take a far step away from the expected and add yet another remix hit to his growing repertoire.
