Annie Mac brings on Tourist for the first Mini Mix of the year
In 2014, London spawned an electronica producer that used his elegant vocals and vibey melodies to break down the genre walls. This artist was William Phillips, aka Tourist. His two spine-tinglers this year, “Wait” and “Illuminate,” introduced the growing dance music scene to a darker yet passionate side that had been sparsely explored before.
With the new year rung in, Tourist wastes no time getting ahead of the curve and takes the honor of crafting Annie Mac’s first Mini Mix of the year. The UK producer effortlessly mixes twelve songs in the five and a third minutes he has at his disposal, including Frankie Knuckles, LCD Soundsystem, and Caribou to name a few. Tourist keeps his genre-bending mentality clear to listeners with this curation stint and sets himself up for a massive 2015.
