Steve Lawler – House Record EP
VIVa label boss Steve Lawler went back in time for his end-of-the-year release on Hot Creations, once again proving himself a master of musical versatility. The title track, “House Record” is a retro-inspired homage to ’80s house music. Lawler keeps it current by throwing in a solid, steady bassline and clean, staccato percussion elements that transform it into a perfect set-warmer. On the B-side, “City Nights” places the focus on rhythm and atmospheric chords to create a spacey tech house vibe that’s loaded with tension. Both are geared to liven up a dance floor and have already surfaced multiple times in the sets of artists like Jamie Jones and Lee Foss.
