QT may not be an act you’ve heard of before, but judging by the production credits behind “Hey QT,” it’s time you become hip to the name. A vocalist supported by the likes of A.G. Cook and SOPHIE arose on the scene lately with ferocity, and the self-titled single picked up major steam amongst the future music community. As with all trending sounds in electronic music, Diplo has been in tune with the artistic scene for a minute, and recently decided to debut his remix of the original track with Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1. While a fresh Diplo remix comes as no surprise from one of the hardest working men in the industry, the Mad Decent frontman tackles a sound a bit outside of his comfort zone. The change is welcome, and along with the signature Jack U clunky snare, the track is sure to pick up a fair amount of steam from both polarizing ends of Diplo’s reach – ranging from underground dancehall parties to the most prestigious mainstages in the world.
