Past guilty-pleasure offering ‘Light Up The Sky’ and its placement on the soundtrack of rom-com New Years Eve, Colorado’s Duncan has spent the last several years re-focussing his musical guise. The North American talent seemingly never rested on the laurels of a movie soundtrack placement, but now edges closer to the accessible swell of vocal club records currently dominating airwaves across the continents.
‘On The Run’ fuses punchy pop song writing and popularised house hallmarks, baring enough keys, low end movements and lasting vocal hooks to hold the attention of both sides of the industry coin. We’re going to be hearing a lot more of this sound in 2015, but Duncan’s latest is as good of a marker for the where the bar should be set for commercial dance music as any right now.
