Future Classic has sparked the careers of many of Australia’s modern day tastemakers such as Flume, Chet Faker, Flight Facilities, Wave Racer, and more. A lesser-known artist on the roster that future beat lovers should keep their eye on is Sydney-based talent, Basenji. For his first song of 2015, Basenji puts forth another genreless piece, “Petals,” featuring electro-pop label mates Scenic. A delicate, downtempo floater, “Petals” keeps it simple sliding fluttering hi-hats and gliding piano melodies under Scenic’s verses.
