Disclosure announce the first details behind new album ‘Caracal’

Disclosure have announced their much-anticipated follow up to Settle. Named after a specific genus of the wild cat family, Caracal is due to arrive on September 25 via PMR/Island. While the full tracklist has yet to be revealed, known collaborators include Nao, Lion Babe, and Kwab — not to mention Gregory Porter who the duo teamed up with for lead single, “Holding On.” According to Pitchfork, Disclosure’s Howard Lawrence also contributes lead vocals to new track “Jaded.”

Following up 2013’s Settle won’t be easy. The album went platinum in the UK and hit #1 on the UK Albums Chart. Beyond its numerical achievements, the LP served as one of the more important releases of the year, if not for its ground-breaking collaborations, then for its ability to bring UK garage tropes to the mainstream spotlight.

If the new album’s 30 second teaser is anything to go by, we can expect a similar stylistic approach to their sophomore effort.
