Ferry Corsten’s EDC set proves he’s still got it

This year’s EDC brought a lot of surprises. From Bryan Cranston (aka Walter White) pressing the button during Above & Beyond, to Kaskade’s art car Redux set, festival-goers and live-streamers alike were constantly in for a treat. For the trance family, one of the highlights was undoubtedly Ferry Corsten’s set. Though Ferry’s excellence hasn’t faded of the years, there has been a noticeable departure from his original sound and a transition to a future trance style that caters to all types of trance fans.

This year Ferry let his fans know he hasn’t left them in the dust through the medium of music. His set was absolutely incredible, to say the least. It was also comprised entirely of pure, progressive, and beautiful trance. Around a third of the way through the set, Corsten played his newest single under his Gouryella alias, “Anahera.”Other highlights included his 2006 single “Beautiful,” the 2015 mix of “Take Me Away” by Four Strings, and a trance remix of Eric Prydz’s “Generate,” and Dimension’s “Origami.”

We have yet to see a negative reaction from trance fans. On one Facebook forum, an attendee said she hadn’t seen a set like this from him in over four years. Another said, “… some people are going as far as saying Ferry’s set was better than Gaia’s.” Listen to and download the masterpiece that is Ferry Corsten’s EDC set below:
