Trippy Turtle is one of the most hilariously irreverent artists in dance music. His elusive persona, which includes alter-ego Lido, doesn’t take anything seriously but still manages to create some of the most original future productions out there. His newest release, “Drunk Texting,” dropped in signature Trippy style with no announcement, and turns Sunday morning regrets into an infectious future house track, guilt-free. “Drunk Texting” lays vocal samples from Drake, Andre 3000, Chris Brown, and Jhene Aiko over a bouncy Jersey-club bassline. Like many of Trippy Turtle’s creations, it’s almost too much — but the flawless execution results in a track that you can’t get out of your head.
