Ibiza legend Mauro Picotto releases ‘The Whistle’ ahead of new album
Mauro Picotto is a man with a lot of ‘firsts’ under his belt: he was the first Italian DJ to tour the world, the first Italian finalist in the revered DMC World DJ championships, and the first DJ to mix live on the BBC’s famous music show Top of the Pops. Needless to say, Picotto has hit a lot of milestones over the course of his 25-plus years of rocking the decks, cementing himself as one of the most dedicated and talented icons in dance music.
In October, Picotto will be releasing his ninth studio album From Heart To Techno on his own imprint Alchemy Records. The new album finds Mauro churning out what he does best: full throttle tech-house and techno built for sweaty dancefloors. Ahead of the full release of his album, Mauro has channeled his inner jazz-man for the album’s first single “The Whistle,” which is available for free download to wet your appetite. The track features jazzy pianos, funky vibes, and, of course, a whistle-along melody as jackin’ percussion propels the song along to euphoric grooviness.
