Word on the street is that Kraak & Smaak are on course for their fifth artist album, framing an impending landmark for the soulfully cleansed indie dance trio turned live evangelists. Having shown two sides to their output via varied output for both Spinnin’ Deep and their newly formed Boogie Angst imprint throughout 2015, the acts familiar home of Jalapeno Records plays host to a fresh vocal offering from the prized Dutchmen and their nostalgically charged studio work. Bernice provides the vocal work for another well-oiled chapter in the trio’s studio work, sticking the feel good instrumentation of heyday 80s pop music back on the table in a reassuringly positive way. What’s refreshing is to see that after so many albums and creative shifts, Kraak & Smaak are still trying to keep the musical palate versatile, using ‘My Minds Made Up’ as a welcome nudge towards their next LP offering.
