Malaa debuts on Tchami’s new label with ‘Notorious’

Tchami‘s new imprint, Confession, has quickly become one of the most discussed labels in electronic music. Still in its infancy, Confession put forth its first release last week: an aggressive future house track entitled “Hey Girl” by Quebecois producer ANGELZ.

The enigmatic Malaa lays claim to Confession’s sophomore release, “Notorious.” Cleverly referencing his own notoriety, Malaa samples Notorious BIG’s anthemic “Going Back to Cali” throughout his flagship release on the Confession label. With darkly simplistic bass, evocative percussion, and contextually-relevant vocal chops, Malaa showcases his supremacy within the G-House sub-genre. Malaa wryly chops Biggie’s vocals to say “The game is mine, nobody do it better.” With the notoriety that Malaa has built and the raucous production he continues to put forth, it’s hard to argue against that statement.
