Vanessa Elisha – Out Of Time (prodby. XXYYXX)
Having only just turned 20, XXYYXX already has several years under his belt as an innovative R&B producer helping to pioneer its future sounds from the underground. In 2014, he recruited young Australian talent Vanessa Elisha to lend her vocals to his liquidy, deep number “Unknown.” The two made a perfect pair, and in turn Elisha decided to collaborate with the American producer on her newest output.
“Out Of Time” is the impassioned, soulful record that resulted in the duo’s second studio session. Sticking to lower frequencies and minimal instrumentation, XXYYXX provides a laid-back yet futuristic background track for Elisha’s pained falsetto belting out lyrics of a love slipping away. The clip carries a surprisingly matured tone to it vocally, as Elisha’s anguished voice depicts the emotions of a woman who’s been going through conflict for years. Meanwhile, XXYYXX reflects her emotions, adjusting the track’s energy accordingly to the peaks and lulls of her voice. The track will be available through iTunes on November 13th.
