DA Premiere: Autograf – Metaphysical (Teenage Mutants Remix)

Chicago-based trio Autograf is known for bright, crisp productions, and a live show which fuses music with physical, creative installments. The group reached two major milestones in 2015, signing with influential indie label Counter Records, and announcing a headlining tour following the success of their art-inspired single, “Metaphysical.”

The group has now culled an innovative remix package that bypasses the usual indie and tropical-tinged suspects and instead calls upon the services of artists like Fehrplay and German producer Teenage Mutants. The house interpretation from the latter utilizes sharp synth stabs, buzzing FX, and Janelle Kroll’s original vocal replaced with a male in a minor key, asking “where do you love?” It’s certainly a departure from the indie original, but Teenage Mutants preserves the record’s original message with a dark, club-destined rework.
