Good Morning Mix: Desert Hearts’ Lee Reynolds crafts a cosmic house and techno journey
Desert Hearts have fostered one of the more devoted fan-bases in the house and techno community. At the core of their crew is Lee Reynolds, or Papa Lee as he is affectionately known. On Friday, February 12, the group takes over Output in Brooklyn. Ahead of the show, Reynolds has prepared a killer hour and a half mix for us. It’s the kind of set that would perform equally as well in the late-hours of the night as it would on a hot, Desert Hearts afternoon.
The mix starts off with some grooving house selections before taking a cosmic turn halfway through thanks to selections from Dubspeeka, Eagles & Butterflies and more. Lee said of the mix: “In the spirit of Dancing Astronaut, this mix documents a recent trip I took from earth to outerspace and back again, and ends with a nice 20 minute comedown. Hope you like it.
