The Radar Episode 47: Mixed by The Golden Pony
Stepping up for Episode 47 of The Radar is none other than The Golden Pony. Lauded as jacks-of-all-trades among the Brooklyn community, Tim Monkiewicz and Thomas Murphy have made their mark as credible DJs, producers, and event producers, as well as two of the more creative minds in the game. Within the last year, for instance, the pair have hosted a stage at Mysteryland USA, curated their own Bang-On!-themed room during the New York leg of Jack Daniels’ Motel No. 7, and released their first original production: “Die Inside Your Dance.”
As Tim and Thomas make way for their biggest year yet, they explore deeper soundscapes brimming with trembling basslines and sultry hi-hats for their Radar installment. Opening with their remix of “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and concluding with “Love Colour Spin,” the duo even sprinkle in an unidentified track — presumably their next original — toward the end of the hour-long mix.
