Skream – This Love (Original Mix)

Alongside a photo of a heart made of snow, Skream uploaded a new song, “This Love,” right after Valentine’s Day. However, with dissonant synthesis, formidable crashes, and a ubiquitous warehouse sentiment, “This Love” is far from a romantic ballad. If one were to liken the thumping techno bass drum to a heartbeat, it would be the arrhythmia leading to cardiac arrest rather than the oxytocin-fueled beat of two lovers intertwined. While the aggressive techno tune includes hints of melodic chords and a vocal line intermittently, the love to which Skream refers is far from anything that would transpire in a romance novel or at a main stage festival set.

In his SoundCloud description, Oliver Jones says he made the song last summer, and has yet to set a release date. For the time being, the track is available to stream below.
