You can now share music from Spotify via Facebook Messenger
Spotify is adding to its portfolio of integration with quotidian services, announcing a new partnership with Facebook Messenger. The streaming service, which currently holds partnerships with Starbucks and Uber, will allow Facebook Messenger app users to share music and playlists with contacts.
To access the new feature, update both mobile apps, and tap on the ellipsis button in Messenger. Once the apps have been updated, you’ll be able to send songs, albums, and playlists through the “share” button, which now includes Facebook Messenger as an option.
To help kick things off, the Facebook Messenger team created their own playlist, sharing their latest favorite tracks that have helped fuel the people behind the app’s growth. At 800 million users, Messenger boasts about ten times the user base that Spotify does. Facebook Messenger is Spotify’s most recent announced partnership, but the streaming giant is currently working with a number of services including lyrics website Genius. The new Spotify feature “Fact Track” allows users to view information about the track within the app, displayed in time with the music.
