M83 – Go! feat. Mai Lan

M83‘s forthcoming album, Junk, is undoubtably one of the most anticipated releases of this year, a sentiment that has only been reaffirmed by the eclectic nature of the imprint’s first two singles, “Do It, Do It,” and “Solitude.” Now coming in just days before the release of the album is the third single, titled “Go!”

Opening with the wailing notes of a saxophone à la George Michael, the song is an incredibly upbeat and galactic soundscape featuring dreamy vocals from Mai Lan. Its shining moment, however, comes in the form of a spaced-out, minute-long guitar solo by way of Steve Vai.

So far, the three releases to come from Junk have been quite the mixed bag but ultimately see frontman Anthony Gonzalez favoring a slightly more psychedelic ’70s/’80s pop sound.

Junk will be released in full via Mute Records on April 8.
