Major Lazer – Be Together (LIOHN Remix)
The tides of electronic music are shifting very quickly, but Sweden is still making with some compelling contributions to its future lifeblood. The mysterious Swedish newcomer LIOHN broke the ice with debut Refune single ‘FLAGS!’ alongside Ingrosso and Salvatore last month, but spares little time making his next high impact strike courtesy of official remix duties for Major Lazer. There really isn’t much to know about LIOHN, but prior remixes for Galantis and Ember Island set the bar for a versatile studio presence that has kept all eyes on the ambiguous talent. For his take on ‘Be Together,’ fluid trap with a glitchy touch is the weapon found in the hands of the consistently expanding sound scope of this interesting newcomer. There is little common ground between the grind of ‘FLAGS!’ and this dialled back remix, but that variety is part of the reason we are hanging on LIOHN’s every move in 2016.
