DA Premiere: GANZ – Dark Places feat. Muki (Original Mix)
Primarily known for his remix work, Dutch producer GANZ is releasing the follow up to his spectacular DINO WAR EP on May 13. Entitled GAO, Dancing Astronaut is exclusively premiering the EP’s final track “Dark Places (feat. Muki).”
A healthy portion of reverb gives the track a lot of space to work with as it kicks off. Muki’s vocal work, a repetitive line that bleeds into itself, flows over a smooth chord progression and drums that fall over themselves into the downbeats. The track’s relaxed nature plays throughout, though GANZ adds an immense synth patch that ups the emotional intensity. Not content to rely on digital means for impact, he also includes a saccharine string melody that is carried on after the first drop and continues into the second as the track plays out.
