After a relationship that spans back half a decade at least, it has finally been confirmed that an original collaboration between The Glitch Mob and Bassnectar will soon make its way into subwoofers everywhere. The result of this clash of bass-titans is undoubtedly going to be one of the biggest collaborations of the year — assuming that it’s released in the next seven months, which The Glitch Mob’s tweet below seems to be hinting.

It was only a matter of time until this happened, as their musical influences are quite similar, centering around rock, punk, and metal. Furthermore, both The Glitch Mob and Bassnectar have remixed each other’s music at one point. The Glitch Mob remix of “Heads Up” dates back over four years ago, and more recently, Bassnectar remixed “Beauty of the Unhidden Heart,” off of The Glitch Mob’s 2014 album, Love Death Immortality.

Fans of both parties will be waiting with much anticipation, especially as this collaboration begs the question of whether they will play some shows together.
