Giorgio Moroder to reunite with Casablanca Records

With a career that is now hurtling through its sixth decade with renewed vigor, it would have been naive to think that Giorgio Moroder would have stayed with one label. Indeed, the pioneering Italian producer initially started his own label, which was eventually absorbed by Casablanca Records, where he released some of his most seminal productions, including his defining works with the Queen of Disco, Donna Summers.

Following his latest album, Déjà Vu, released in June 2015 by RCA, Moroder is returning home to Casablanca. Brett Alperowitz, the General Manager of Casablanca Records, said in a statement, “It feels great to have him back with the label and we are looking forward to his next innovation!” With a career that spans spearheading disco, scoring Scarface, and collaborating with the likes of David Bowie — combined with no intentions of slowing down — it’s safe to say the whole electronic music scene shares a similar sentiment to Alperowitz’s remarks.
