Knife Party and Hardwell confirm upcoming new collaboration

In 2013, Knife Party released their Haunted House EP, which, as we reviewed at the time, was a strong release but also could have used another new original rather than the ubiquitous “Internet Friends VIP.” That, of course, turned out to be the initial plan, as members Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen had intended to include their collaboration with Hardwell: “Baghdad.” The Dutch producer had nixed the track’s inclusion, though, opting instead to tweak it more thoroughly.

In a recent Instagram post, however, Hardwell seemed to indicate that a group effort between he and Knife Party may be released shortly. In a picture taken backstage at EDC Vegas, Hardwell is shown with Swire and McGrillen and captioned the photo, “Who’s ready for that new new collab?”

It’s ambiguous as to whether the collaboration Hardwell is referring to is “Baghdad” or a brand new track, but the prospect of any joint effort from Hardwell and Knife Party is sure to excite fans.
