Louisahhh!!! establishes new BBC Radio 1 residency

French techno savant Louisa Pillot’s rise to power through Brodinski’s Bromance label is a testament to her formidability. To be perhaps the standout act on a thematically male-driven label is to be a force with which to be reckoned. Even Pillot’s stage name – Louisahhh!!! – heralds her presence wherever she’s involved, as does her punk-techno label, RAAR, which she runs with fellow Bromance affiliate Maelstrom. Pillot’s brand of techno is seismically sinister, quaking whichever venue it enters.

BBC Radio 1 is the newest platform to invite Pillot to shake its airwaves. Following a successful stint at Australia’s Triple J, Pillot will begin her Radio 1 residency this July, whereupon she will broadcast a show each month, excepting September. Louisahhh!!! joins James Blake, Nina Kraviz, George Fitzgerald, and Heidi as a new resident on the platform. The dates for Pillot’s shows are as follows: July 12, August 11, October 13, November 10, and December 8.

Those unfamiliar with techno’s darkest queen can stream her eruptive Shadow Work EP below:
