Porter Robinson drops new music at Electric Forest

In the two years since Worlds, Porter Robinson has kept relatively quiet. The prodigal DJ revealed earlier this year via Twitter that although 2015 had been difficult for his creative process, he was back in his groove.

True to his word, all has been quiet on the Robinson front for the past few months as he’s been working on new music, some of which received the debut treatment at Electric Forest this past weekend. Robinson used his closing slot at Sherwood Court to tease fans with a new live edit to his track “Shepherdess,” an exclusive cut from the vinyl edition of Worlds.

Robinson also premiered an entirely new track as well, though video footage is scarce, short, and admittedly obnoxious. However, it does clue us in on possible directions for his new work. Though not an extreme departure from the Worlds-verse, the track seems like a trappy, happy hardcore-inspired melange that has vindicated the ongoing fervor for new music from the young producer.
