The Chainsmokers, Alesso, Calvin Harris and more nominated for 2016 VMAs

This year’s nominees for the MTV Video Music Awards have been announced, with Beyoncé and Adele rightfully leading the pack with nearly 20 nominations combined. Lemonade and 25 have both ruled their respective ends of the pop spectrum this year, though usual suspects Drake, Rihanna, and Ariana Grande all pull their fair share of nominations as well.

Electronic music is well represented at this year’s VMAs with Alesso, The Chainsmokers, Calvin Harris, Afrojack and others all chasing Moonmen in 2016. Justin Bieber and Skrillex‘s “Sorry” is up for Video of the Year next to Kanye’s now notorious “Famous” feature and Drake’s inescapable “Hotline Bling.” Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s “This Is What You Came For,” and The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down” are both in contention for VMAs this year as well, while Alesso’s feature for “I Wanna Know” is up for the award in the Best Cinematography category.

Lastly, David Bowie has posthumously been nominated for a Moonman for work on his final record, Blackstar. View the full list of nominations below:
