Coroner issues report in EDC Las Vegas death

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has released the cause of death for a woman who died following EDC Las Vegas last month. Kenani Kaimuloa, a 20-year-old festival attendee, died of combined intoxication after ingesting both cocaine and ecstasy at the event. The coroner also reported that outdoor heat — temperatures regularly exceeded 100 degrees during the festival — factored in to Kaimuloa’s death.

As was previously reported, the San Diego native collapsed and seized around 6am Monday, June 20 while waiting for a shuttle to leave the speedway. Traffic surrounding the event prevented timely ambulance treatment and Kaimuloa’s temperature had rocketed to 110 degrees before she was admitted to a nearby medical facility in a comatose state. She was officially pronounced dead on the evening of Wednesday, June 22.
