UPDATED: Two girls reportedly found unconscious in DVBBS’ dressing room

According to Hungarian publication BORS, two girls were reportedly found unconscious in EDM duo DVBBS‘ dressing room on Saturday night at Balaton Sound music festival in Hungary.

Attendees report that the two girls had been standing in the front row during the set, only to be called up on stage. After talking with the duo, the girls were apparently invited to hangout backstage where they were later discovered by venue staffers alone and unconscious.

Though an employee immediately phoned for an ambulance, DVBBS were already en route to the Budapest airport. According to a rough translation from BORS‘ article, DVBBS were reached by the police, but later released. Their upcoming performance at Sziget Festival in Hungary has been cancelled following the incident.

Festival organizers have confirmed that the girls would not have been able to enter the protected area without artist accompaniment.

One of the girls’ mothers has since filed a police report regarding the events. Though Hungarian media outlets have attempted to glean information from officials, many offices were closed on Sunday and promised more information later today.

We’ve reached out to DVBBS’s team for an official response on the matter. We’ll update this article with more information when we have it.

[Update 4:01 PM EST]: DVBBS responded to an inquiry from Hungarian publication Index. We’ve translated it below:

“We are shocked that some attendees of the Balaton Festival (sic) were victims of events which got them hospitalized. Police asked our cooperation for the investigation and of course we did what we could. Police confirmed there isn’t any link between us and what happened, that’s why we took off a couple of hours later to our next gig in ibiza. There is another case going on independently from this in connection with marijuana and we gladly answer all questions regarding this and help the police to solve the case. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families. Alex and Chris (DVBBS).”

[Update 3:35 PM EST]: Reports have indicated that four men, including the duo, were arrested at the Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest on drug related charges after authorities discovered drug paraphernalia. Three of the suspects reportedly tested positive on a rapid drug screen, while the fourth was brought in as a witness.

Somogy County Police have responded to media inquiries about the arrests, indicating that the two events are absolutely related.
