International Music Summit announces Skrillex, Alesso and more for IMS Asia-Pacific

With over 60% of the world’s population, Asia is one of the largest potential markets for electronic music. Yet, due to obstacles of varying nature, the rapidly burgeoning electronic music industry is still only in its very early stages.

To help centralize the discussion around the region, the International Music Summit launched IMS Asia-Pacific. The event, which takes place September 29-30 in Shanghai, China, is aimed precisely at the goal of providing valuable information and resources for artists to extend their reach into the fastest growing market in the world.

Today, IMS revealed the first round of speakers and initial programming details for its third-annual event this fall. Sonny Moore, better known as Skrillex, will be bringing the key players on the OWSLA team for a special panel discussing the strategies, successes and challenges involved in building their profile in Asia.

Alesso will also be bringing his expertise to the event, where he will speak about connecting with the local audiences in Asia. Emerging artists in the region, such as Pop Queen and vocalist Jolin Tsai, 17-year-old Chace (who performed at Tomorrowland), and underground Thai DJ Nakadia, will also lend their knowledge to various panels.
