Jack Ü to take indefinite hiatus from festival appearances

Considering Skrillex and Diplo’s ubiquities as solo artists and collaborators across a vast variety of genres, their seemingly unending touring schedule as Jack Ü has always been impressive. On August 27, the duo played their last scheduled tour performance at Creamfields in Halton, UK. A day later, in a now-deleted tweet, Skrillex noted that Creamfields would be the last Jack Ü festival appearance of 2016.

Skrillex’s statement leaves ambiguity as to whether or not the duo will continue to perform outside of festival lineups, how long their hiatus will last, and if they will continue producing together during the festival moratorium. However, the remarkable impact that Skrillex and Diplo’s partnership has had on the electronic music scene over the last several years assures that they will be returning. For the time being, fans can look forward to the two artists’ furthering focus on their solo projects and the numerous side projects that each have independently.
