LCD Soundsystem reportedly forced to cancel Asian and Australian tour due to studio conflicts

With 2016 marking the end of their five-year silence, most of the attention has been lavished on LCD Soundsystem‘s first reunion shows at Webster Hall and their momentous performance at this year’s Coachella. The excitement surrounding this performances somehow managed to overshadow the fact that the group announced they would be recording a new album back in January. It appears that album has now forced the reunited band to curtail some of upcoming shows.

In a Facebook post, Hong Kong’s Clockenflap Festival, where the band was scheduled to perform, revealed that LCD was canceling it’s performance along with the rest of its Asian and Australian tour dates due to a “studio scheduling conflict.”

The group has yet to release a statement in response to Clockenflap’s or the alleged tour cancellation. Still, while ruefully unfortunate for those who wished to attend the band’s Asian and Australian stops, a cancellation to work on a new album is the best reason and consolation fans could hope for.
