Radiohead nominated for 2016 Mercury Prize

Radiohead, among others, has officially been nominated for the 2016 Mercury Prize, a prestigious, annual music prize awarded for the best album stemming form the UK and Ireland. A Moon Shaped Pool, the group’s ninth studio album and first major effort since 2011’s The King of Limbs, was released in May.

Additional artists to be nominated for this year’s prize include Anohni, Bat for Lashes, David Bowie and Skepta. A panel of judges, including Jarvis Cocker, Annie Mac and Jessie Ware, will narrow down the list of nominations to six, with the winner to be established by a popular vote.
