Steve Aoki & Boehm Feat. WALK THE MOON – Back 2 U (Unlike Pluto Remix)
In May, Steve Aoki teamed up with Romanian producer Boehm and indie-pop outfit WALK THE MOON to release “Back 2 U,” a tropical house track that provided a fitting introduction to the summer months. As the balmy season draws to a close, Aoki has released an EP of remixes that see a variety of producers lend their variations to the melodic original.
Alongside notable remixers such as Bad Royale, Breathe Carolina, and FTampa, a standout comes in the form of rising producer Unlike Pluto. For his remix, Unlike Pluto leaves WALK THE MOON’s vocals largely intact, but change’s the essence of the original significantly. Integrating cinematic horns, broken beat rhythms, and gain-heavy synths with Aoki and Boehm’s composition, Unlike Pluto’s remix is both a club igniter and a bittersweet farewell to summer.
