Tchami – SIAW (Original Mix)

France’s Tchami has been fairly quiet in terms of new releases since last year’s After Life EP. With a successful tour alongside fellow Frenchmen DJ Snake, Mercer, and Malaa — whom the producer may be pulling double duty as — as well as raucous performances at Coachella and Mysteryland USA, and multiple apperances at Mad Decent Block Party, his absence on the studio front is understandable. That drought has ended however with release of the future house maestro’s latest track,”SIAW.”

Drums and a vaguely defined bass play the track in before vocals slathered in reverb, accompanied by occasional synthesized slashes, announce the track’s build-up. This all adds up to a vaguely ominous affair that is mostly dispensed with at the drop, showcasing Tchami’s emphasis on a palpable groove and measured production skills, relying on a few rising and falling future-tinged sounds with percussion flourishes to propel the track forward.
