Boombox Cartel & QUIX – Supernatural (Feat. Anjulie)

Bass-focused duo Boombox Cartel and burgeoning producer QUIX have begun significant ascensions in 2016. Both acts have earned spots on major festival lineups and released high profile remixes — Boombox Cartel were featured on Skrillex and Wiwek’s “Killa” remix EP, while QUIX experienced a surge in publicity for his revision of Skrillex and Nero’s famed “Promises” remix.

“Supernatural,” Boombox Cartel and QUIX’s new collaboration, has been a highly-anticipated release for the last several months, appearing in a staggering number of sets from artists like Skrillex and RL Grime. The joint effort, which features vocals from Anjulie, is a significant milestone for both acts, marking their first release on Mad Decent.

Strongly redolent of Boombox Cartel’s “B2U (Feat. Ian Everson),” the track begins with Anjulie’s sultry vocals, supported by mellifluous synthesis. From its calmative introduction, “Supernatural” shifts dramatically in its first drop, a metallic, rhythmically drawn out trap segment. After the song’s discordant first drop, the producers transition back into a peaceful realm, concluding “Supernatural” with a triumphant future bass culmination.
