Eric Prydz delivers first-ever Cirez D Essential Mix
Eric Prydz is certainly no stranger to the Essential Mix, having proffered numerous contributions to BBC Radio 1’s benchmark program since 2005. However, fans of his darker techno alias were very excited to learn that this year he’d be delivering his first Essential Mix as Cirez D.
Last weekend, Prydz took to Creamfield’s colossal 20,000 person super structure, the Steel Yard, for a live recording of his Cirez D Essential Mix. Now the mix has officially aired, offering an hour of Prydz’s techno maelstrom from Friday night.
As you’d expect from the legendary Swedish producer, the setlist is riddled with unreleased tracks. Selections like his “Soundcheck ID” and “The Tournament” receive an official play on the mix, perhaps alluding to a potential release on his forthcoming Mouseville 022 EP. Interwoven between these coveted Cirez D cuts are offerings from the likes of Sam Paganini, Slam, Jel Ford and more, making for an altogether blistering hour of techno.
