Jeremy Olander first crossed paths with Suara when he contributed an official remix of Dosem’s “Runnerpark” to the label. This mysterious and percussive re-work showcased Olander’s brilliance in making subtler production enrapturing, and he was later invited to sign his Hanover EP to the famed Spanish imprint. Their relationship remains a positive one, as evidenced by the two factions coming together for a third time to bring the Vivrant owner’s newest body of work to the surface: Talespin.
“Panorama” is the EP’s B-side – a lush, truly panoramic listen which provides a release from tension built up by “Talespin.” “Panorama” blossoms slowly, traversing melancholic arpeggios and dissonant chords with crisp undertones before giving way to celestial chimes and glittering melodic progressions that soar through over subtle kicks. The soaring effect that Olander achieves with this arrangement persists even as heavier element’s from the beginning slowly begin to work themselves back into the fray.
Olander’s Talespin EP will be available on Beatport and other outlets on September 5. While Olander has taken a brief step away from releasing on his recently-established Vivrant imprint, his efforts in cultivating the label are revving up as it reaches its one year anniversary. He just embarked on an extensive North American “Phase II” tour in celebration of the label’s inception, after having released two Dhillon EPs just weeks apart.
