DJ Shadow is selling his private record collection to fans

Next month, DJ Shadow will open up a pop-up shop at the headquarters of Los Angeles record label Rappcats, and will sell hundreds of rare and exclusive records from his own collection to fans on September 10 and 11 from noon to 6 p.m. Attendees will also be able to purchase limited edition copies of The Mountain Will Fall, his latest album, as well as selects from Shadow’s own back catologue that you can’t find through his store. Posters, 8-tracks cartridges, cassette tapes and more are also up for grabs.

“This is a chance for producers, dealers and DJs to access seldom-seen and electic vinyl at affordable prices,” Shadow stated on Rappcats website. “These are all records I have other copies of, and I’ve decided that I don’t need to keep multiples. Think of it as a year-long thrift-store hunt consolidated into two days,” he added, in case any fans were feeling guilty of taking his treasures.
