Sasha and John Digweed, known affectionately to fans as “Sasha & Digweed,” helped pave the way for progressive, trance, and electronic music as a whole with their historic partnership in the ’90s and early 2000s. Their Delta Heavy tour was considered to be one of the most groundbreaking tours ever produced in dance music, where crowds were lucky enough to see the duo bring their brand of music to an epic live setting equipped with some of the most advanced visual and audio technology of the age.
Unfortunately, the two began slowly drifting into their solo careers, with Sasha focusing on Last Night On Earth and Digweed with Bedrock. Sets became few far between, and eventually, we were left with a six year hiatus. Luckily, the two titans joined forces for a surprise show earlier this year, evidently catalyzing a desire between the two to reunite in more formal fashion. This desire gave way to the announcement of a legendary reunion set at The Social Festival in London.
On Friday night, Sasha & Digweed reunited on t the festival’s main stage, and fortunately for everyone who was not there, Digweed hosted a live stream offering a taste of the action. As a result, 25 minutes of their cheerful reunion has been recorded. Watch as they tackle an immense set up with multiple decks and flawlessly transition tracks into one another while adding live effects below.
