Matador – Stanleys (ANNA Remix)
Matador celebrated dual successes this year with the launch of his own Rukus imprint and the release of his long-awaited debut LP, Ructions. Among remixes done by established veterans in the scene such as Hot Since 82 and Julian Jeweil, a steadily rising ANNA is the latest artist to take on the LP, molding album single “Stanleys” into a drilling tech piece of her own.
The Brazilian talent takes no time in establishing a far more sinister atmosphere than that of the original, accomplishing this feat with crackling white noise and tingly synthesizers that creep down the spine. Relentless kicks make this re-work of “Stanleys” a brute of a track, only lightening enough to take a quick breath before plunging into pulsating state established beforehand.
ANNA continues to push herself forward after her famed output “Odd Concept” on Diynamic cemented her notoriety at the beginning of 2016. She recently moved to Barcelona as a result of booking increased gigs across Europe, and commenced her American debut in California at Nocturnal Wonderland.
